This series of high current round edge wound resistors is suitable for a variety of application scenarios, including dynamic braking, load box, motor starting and reverse braking. A variety of ohm values and current ratings are available to meet the needs of rail transit applications.
A strong welded steel frame supports the fire-resistant insulator. The surface of the steel frame is converted with zinc chromate for excellent corrosion resistance. The ceramic insulator isolates the turns of the resistive element from each other and from the steel frame. The resistance element is made of stainless steel strip, because of its strong corrosion resistance, extremely low temperature coefficient, and the unit length resistance value and current carrying capacity match well. The resistive element is made by winding a stainless steel strip along the edges to make a continuous coil of a specified length. The assembly is finally completed by galvanized terminals welded to the resistance element.
